The white horse Future Food Research Institute of Jiangnan University was established on December 18, 2020. It is located in Nanjing national agricultural high tech industry demonstration zone (the only one in the Yangtze River Delta). It is a public institution jointly organized by the Management Committee of Nanjing Baima high tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangsu Province and Jiangnan University. At the end of 2020, the Institute was approved as a provincial technological innovation center.
With Jiangnan University as the core construction unit, Baima Future Food Research Institute of Jiangnan University focuses on five research directions: food nutrition and health regulation technology, smart food big data technology, food new resource biosynthesis technology, food additive manufacturing and equipment, and food oriented design and reorganization technology. It has gathered a scientific research team led by academicians Chen Jian and Chen Wei of the Chinese Academy of engineering and composed of top scientists in the food field at home and abroad.
